This privacy policy describes how Presto collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies to askpresto.com and related product pages.
Data controller
The data controller responsible for Presto is Three Comma Ventures LTD. For questions about this policy or to exercise your privacy rights, use Settings in the product after you sign in, or the contact details on your Stripe invoices.
When you visit
Presto is hosted by Vercel, Inc. When you visit, Vercel collects data necessary to run the site and protect its platform, including:
- Information about your browser, network, and device
- Links you clicked to reach this site
- Pages you visit
- Your IP address
Vercel uses this data to operate the website and improve its services. Data is analysed in de-personalised form where possible. Legal basis (UK/EU): Legitimate interest (operating and securing the website). Retention: As described in Vercel’s policy. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
Accounts
Sign-in is provided by Clerk. When you create an account, Clerk collects details needed to authenticate you, which typically include your name, email address, profile image, and sign-in provider (for example Google or email).
Legal basis (UK/EU): Performance of a contract (creating and securing your account). Retention: For as long as the account exists, then as required for security and legal records. See Clerk’s privacy policy.
Workspace content
When you use Presto after signing in, we store:
- Documents, spaces, tasks, boards, and files you or your teammates add
- Assistant threads — messages you send, replies, and metadata needed to keep a conversation
- Personal memory notes and related choices in Settings → Memory (see below)
- Usage data needed to operate the product (features used, device type, browser)
Personal memory
Signed-in users can keep inspectable notes in Settings → Memory (profile, preferences, topics, areas, people, and projects). We store the notes you save or import, your privacy choices (whether notes may be used in later chats, and whether sensitive topics are included), suggested notes awaiting your review, and notes you share with a workspace.
The first time you use Memory or the signed-in Assistant, we ask whether to save personal memory. You can change this anytime in Settings. Health, religion, and similar notes stay out of chats unless you turn on Include sensitive topics. Presto also skips notes that look like those topics even if they were not marked Sensitive. Some profile and preference notes may be sent with a chat even when they are not a close match for the current question. You can delete individual notes or all notes in Settings. If memory is on, completing a Job may add or update a personal project note you can edit. You can import notes from files you export from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Presto. Guest and public chat do not use memory. Memory notes are not added to the team Library as searchable workspace documents unless you save them there yourself. We do not write memory note bodies to application logs.
Legal basis (UK/EU): Performance of a contract (providing the workspace you asked for), and consent where you choose to save or use memory. Retention: Until you delete the content or close the account, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons. Unused memory notes may be archived after 18 months without use; archived notes stay in your account until you delete or restore them.
Assistant
The Assistant uses third-party AI providers to generate replies (via our servers). Depending on the model in use, that is typically OpenAI or Anthropic. When retrieval is enabled, search queries are also sent for embedding so we can find relevant workspace documents. When you send a message:
- Your message content is sent to the selected model provider
- When retrieval is enabled, search queries are sent for embedding. Providers may use this data in accordance with their policies
- Responses are streamed back to you in real time
- We keep the thread in your account so you can continue the conversation later — unlike a one-off public chat page
- If you save memory notes and allow them in conversations, selected notes may be sent to the selected model with your message so replies can use that personal context (including some profile and preference notes that are not a close match for the current question). Notes that look like health, religion, or similar topics are skipped unless you turn on Include sensitive topics. Presto may also suggest notes from chats (including when you say “remember this”) for you to review in Settings. Completing a Job may add a project note. Notes shared with a workspace are visible to members of that workspace. Guest and public chat do not use memory
Do not submit sensitive personal information (for example passwords, financial details, or health data) in the assistant or in Memory unless you need it for the work at hand and accept the processing described here.
Legal basis (UK/EU): Performance of a contract, and consent (by using the assistant you consent to your messages being processed by the selected providers for generation and, when retrieval is enabled, embeddings). Retention: Threads stay in your account until you delete them or close the account. Providers retain data per their policies. See Anthropic’s privacy policy and OpenAI’s privacy policy.
Payments
Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Max, and Lifetime Pass) use Stripe Checkout. When you complete a purchase:
- Payment and card data are collected and processed by Stripe
- This site does not store or handle your payment card numbers
- We keep plan, subscription status, and invoice history so we can provide the paid features you bought
- Stripe processes data in accordance with its privacy policy
Legal basis (UK/EU): Performance of a contract (or steps prior to entering a contract). Retention: Per Stripe’s policy and applicable financial regulations. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
Contact
There is no public contact form on these legal pages. After you sign in, use Settings in the product. If you have a paid plan, you can also use the contact details on your Stripe invoices. Email we receive is used only to respond to your enquiry.
Legal basis (UK/EU): Legitimate interest (responding to enquiries) or consent. Retention: We retain correspondence as needed to respond and for a reasonable period thereafter; you may request deletion.
Third-party content and technologies
Fonts
This site uses Inter via Next.js’s next/font. Fonts are self-hosted at build time; no request is made to Google when you load a page.
Embedded content
These pages do not embed third-party content (iframes) by default. If embedded content is added later, those providers may collect data when you view or interact with it. Refer to their privacy policies.
Third-party processors
We use the following processors to operate Presto. Each processes data on our behalf in accordance with their privacy policies:
- Vercel — hosting, analytics, speed insights
- Clerk — account sign-in
- Stripe — payment processing
- OpenAI — assistant replies and embeddings, depending on the model
- Anthropic — assistant replies, depending on the model
See the relevant sections above and the linked privacy policies for details on what data each processor receives and how they use it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We may disclose information when required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
International transfers
Data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction, including the United States, where our service providers (Vercel, Clerk, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic) operate. Transfers from the UK and EU/EEA are made using appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other mechanisms as described in each provider’s privacy policy.
Retention
Retention periods vary by processing activity:
- When you visit: per Vercel’s policy
- Analytics (Vercel): 24 hours for session data; aggregated data per Vercel’s policy
- Accounts: for as long as the account exists, then as required for security and legal records
- Workspace, assistant threads, and memory notes: until you delete them or close the account. Unused memory notes may be archived after 18 months without use; archived notes stay in your account until you delete or restore them. You can export notes from Settings → Memory
- Payments: per Stripe’s policy and applicable financial regulations
- Contact: as needed to respond and for a reasonable period thereafter; you may request deletion
You can request deletion of your account through Settings. We aim to action deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or accounting reasons. Cancelling a Stripe subscription is separate from deleting an account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. For example:
- UK / EU / EEA: rights under the UK GDPR and EU General Data Protection Regulation (for example access, rectification, erasure, data portability, objection to processing, restriction). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority (for example the ICO in the UK, or your national authority in the EU/EEA).
- California: rights under the CCPA/CPRA (for example know what data we collect, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing). We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
To exercise your rights or ask questions about this policy, use Settings in the product or the contact details on your Stripe invoices. You can open, edit, export, or delete memory notes in Settings → Memory. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. For data held by third parties (Vercel, Clerk, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic), you may need to contact them directly or use their privacy tools.
Children
Presto is not directed at children under 16 (or 13 in the US). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including use of reputable hosting and service providers. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects you. The assistant generates replies to help you work; it does not decide your legal rights or access to essential services.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when changes are made. Material changes will be noted; we encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the site after the effective date of changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy, except where applicable law requires a different standard (for example fresh consent for expanded processing).
This policy is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. Consider consulting a qualified legal professional for your specific situation.
